Показать описание
Today:
Life on the road - is it worth it?
This is related to my experience of some 40 years as a touring and gigging musician, nowadays combining performing with "regular" job. Is it out of commodity or a true life choice, what's the difference between being on the road all the time and playing live occasionally?
TIMESTAMPS:
00:00 Welcome all
06:25 Welcome Song "Walk On" by Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee
10:42 Live Blues Backup - Slow blues in E
15:00 Live Blues Backup - slow blues in Open G
18:30 Explanation of the picking pattern used
21:10 Life On The Road - worth it?
47:10 Lick Of The Week - "River Of Jordan" by Blind Willie McTell
Lick of the week:
"River Of Jordan" by Blind Willie McTell, I'll show you this beautiful slide melody...
Live Blues Backups as usual, Q& A's.....
Prior to watching my Blue Monday Livestreams every Monday at 9pm CEST which is:
12pm PST / 2pm CST / 3pm EST / 8pm GMT (London) / 7am AEDT (Sidney), watch this video:
- I'm explaining here how to tune your guitar to Open G and Open D tunings
- Learn the basics of fingerpicking technique - alternate bass playing
- Learn the basics of slide technique
This video is very basic and I'll be uploading more detailed content about each of the techniques mentioned later on. The topics in this video are meant to prepare you for my livestreams where I'm using standard tuning, Open G, Open D, I'm playing slide and fingerpicking.
The whole idea of BLUE MONDAY Livestreams is to provide solid and professional live backup to your soloing, maybe just hanging with my rhythm, chord shapes and learning as we go.
I'll always be explaining what and how I played, there are several sections during the one hour livestream:
- Solid backup for your guitar playing
- Artist in focus (in selected livestreams)
- Lick Of The Week (explained in detail)
- Special guests (in selected livestreams)
- Q&A
Blue Monday Livestreams:
Most of the guitars Homesick Mac is playing are made by the master luthier Michael Sandén:
Homesick Mac's slides made by:

Homesick Mac (Dragan Ruzic - Macan) is an acoustic (for the most part) guitarist and singer born in former Yugoslavia, now living in Sweden.
I run annual Guitar Retreats for "non-guitarists" at the island of Ven in southern Sweden.
(Please observe that the dates aren't accurate due to the web hosting problem - the general info about the Retreat is correct though)
