I don't like touchscreens, I support Mazda for designing its vehicles with physical buttons and manual transmissions.

I’m glad it’s not a touchscreen. I’ve owned my Astina for nearly 4yrs and enjoyed using the dial since day one.

The dial is perfect you don’t need to reach over and change the radio or whatever I love it

whats with people obsession with touch screens in cars. drive the damned car. we've been going through all this crap for years about not using your cell phone while driving and now for some reason its ok to fiddle with a cell phone thats mounted into your dash.

The dial is actually a safety feature.

I concur, the Mazda’s screen interface is fantastic. They have just the right number of hard buttons that allow drivers to quickly jump between, say, navigation and music with one button push. When I rent cars with touchscreens, I am shocked that I sometimes need to use two or three clicks on a touchscreen to do the same thing. This is particularly hard to do safely on a bumpy road.

I know reviewers drive different cars all the time, but if you own a Mazda you will get used to it very quickly.

Also, the climate control buttons keep everything simple and still look sleek and clean with no need to toggle through screens to make simple adjustments.

The rotator knob is a LOT more expensive than a $30 chinese built touch screen. I love it in my MX-5 RF

Unless Alpha Romeo releases a Hatch, this one is really nice looking one.

Mazda s very smart!

They put the screen high where it is easy to see while still looking at the road.
However it wouldn't be as safe if people were constantly reaching to it since it is a little far.
So by not having a touch screen makes it safer.
Old but efficient, it is very easy to get use to the dial.

Best build quality and drives like a dream. If you don't care about the fancy screen gadgets this is the one.

You are not allowed to touch your phone while driving but it is okay to touch these overcomplicated infotainment systems...

Analog will always be better than annoying ass touch screens

Most people with touch screen displays don’t actually care if they’re touch screen. I’d actually prefer a dial rather than touch screen

I have a 2014 Mazda 3 which has the dial and it’s also a touchscreen but I always use the dial because it’s easier.

I absolutely love Mazda 3. It's basically Premium car for small buck (Okay.. full trim and features option is around $30.000 but Mercedes-Benz A class starts as basic for 30k...)

YES the gloss black/piano black does not hold up against time

My car has full LED light inside and out.

I had one. I've replaced the bulbs for leds. The manual was nice but the gears are to long. You had to rev it really high. What i hated about the car was when it was raining and the window was a little bit open, the rain blows in your face because of its design. Also be aware of the cost for replacing the spark plugs. These were very expensive. For the rest really nice build car.

Having to interact with a touch screen is really, really annoying for me, especially while driving. Glad Mazda goes against that trend! Also i wouldn't care if the blink lights were not LED as long as the headlights were. Third i don't really like having fragile parts in the car that are easily scratched or damaged so I'll agree with your last point. Love Mazda.
