Hello Nigel, great video mate. You are so right about Marshall's & their after sales service. I bought the Heat treated sets that you had last year & the year before. Out of the 3 varieties approx 20% were not suitable. I did contact them regarding this issue just to make them aware that there maybe a problem with their stock & within 24 hrs they mailed me back & apologised for my order & informed me that they will be sending out another order complete with the fertiliser. You cant beat that for customer service. I have bought quite a few items from them in the past I will be purchasing again.Thank's for sharing mate.

Hello Nigel, smiling at the process for sowing the seeds as not to miss any this time. I always work that way, just in case someone interrupts me while I'm sowing. The garlic from the garlic farm sounds fantastic, be sure to give your review of it... Best of luck on all your Brassicas, T

Hello Nigel, been watching your videos for a while and really enjoy them. I grew Red Ray last year up here in Fife and they were excellent, even with the poor summer. I think only one bolted. They have stored really well, still have a few left. I also tried Hytech along with them, these were also excellent, my wife reckons they are the best we have grown. None of these bolted, Grew Red Barron and Sturon as a comparison and a lot of these untreated sets did bolt. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing your tips etc.

Nice one Nigel. I found my onions do great starting them first like that. I breed a few meal worms for my birds have to nuke the poop before it put it in the compost though lol. I have seen a lot about charge good stuff ;-) Not done my sprouts yet working on it ;-) I sat back and enjoyed. great info as ever mate.
All the best Dave

Hi Nigel your comments regarding garbage compost ... here in the US we have exactly the same problem... WHY... Ever since this environmental issue took hold ie recycle all your waste OK if its going to protect our planet the sensible way would be to recycle but its the way the authority's process garbage ... Good quality compost cost is expensive here "makes gardening a rich man's hobby I personally use a product called DR EARTH.. also Miracle/ Grow...most garden centre compost the cheaper brands have all sort of rubbish in them .. Wood ...Plastic terrible and they charge top I find our farmer's market fair with quality and price here in Beverly Hills ....Peat Moss is ok... as a filler compost mixed with other quality composts Nigel great posting as ever... hope you get your planting sorted weather where you are located is crap .. how in know is i have relatives who live very near to you Knowle.. Bromsgrove Evesham.. i phone regular with i could parcel up some sunshine and ship it across to you... Nigel seeya now blessing

As new gardeners we really struggled with growing onions from seed. Could be soil quality, poor technique, the list seems endless lol. We giving onions from sets a serious go and I saved this video.
Merry Christmas Nigel from Victoria BC

Hello Nigel, the compost does seem an issue and if I need another bag I will open and check the quality, had a new stock in. Nice feeling to get some seeds in and I managed to sort some fly tip compost before the snow showers got too bad.

🌱Happy Gardening my friend, Terry.

hi Nigel, I planted potatoes in buckets last week and stopped because I ran out of space, (only got a 6 x 4 greenhouse) didn't think about stacking them, how long can they be kept in a stack please, cant put anything out we are covered in snow again here and this being my first year growing if I kill something I think I will every plant is my baby(only ones I will have at 68.lol), christine

those onions are in big pots Nigel, I just put mine in small modules - like the ones you sowed brassicas into - and they seemed to do great, less compost cost. I've also stopped putting my brassicas in a propagator, because it seems to make them too leggy, I'm just using a fairly sunny window sill, in an unheated room. I like Marshals and their guarantee, I got some grotty seed potatoes and they sent so many replacements I'm swimming in them! : All the best - Steve
