In this dinosaur video I ask what happened to this original Velociraptor from Jurassic Park. We go over the shoot her scene and discuss how this early Jurassic World animal probably got killed. Hope you all enjoy! Raptors rule! :D

Muldoon would have wasted her, himself. I doubt he would have let one that killed a worker to live knowing that the creature had learned to kill humans.

The real question is: what happened TO velociraptors after Jurassic park? Cuz the original raptors are still the scariest and best imo.

When I was a kid I was convinced that the "shot her" was the same Big one, but then I questioned myself if they are in fact shooting her why is still alive? I suppose that I didn't give it enough importance until now.

1:36, that opening scene is an homage to Jaws, where you don't see the shark/Dinosaur until later.

It could also be theorized that if Hammond is as reckless with his money as we have come to see, Hammond would have an on-site vet clinic. Hammond's "spare no expense" approach seems to be more guided toward the lives of the animals, and not the safety of the people. So it may entirely be possible that this raptor survived, if Hammond demanded it be taken into surgery. If that is the case, we have a direct and almost clear "motive" as to why the raptor later on in the movie takes such care and almost pride in killing Muldoon; it's literally revenge.

I just thought they were shooting it with non-lethals, I never knew they were firing shotguns at it!

I loved the opening, for it represents the inherent danger of these dinosaurs. I too struggle to concluded this was the big one, but was convinced that it was not because:
a) We are shown security with lethal (rifles) and nonlethal weapons (taser rifles), showing that INGEN wanted to try to save its animals (Bet Muldoon wanted lethals only).
And b) Muldoon says "work her back" meaning to use tasers, then when Geoffrey is getting attacked to "shoot her" meaning to kill the raptor (this was pointed out to me by a friend).
What I want to know is if this is the one raptor that causes Muldoon to later tell Dr. Grant's group "they are lethal at 6 months, and I do mean lethal." Hence why it was being moved into the holding pen in the first place.

Another thing to take into consideration is the fact that IF "The Big One" was the one that killed Joffrey- she should have had SOME scars or injuries later in the film from those tasers and shots she received during that scene.

Great analysis, Klayton... I would have continued believing that "TBO" was the raptor responsible for poor Joffrey's death. This CHANGES EVERYTHING now for me.

My question would be then why does Joffery's hand still slip away like he's getting pulled into the cage still?

So the line "SHOOT HER!" was followed by a fourth raptor dying?
My childhood is a lie.

I loved this video. I always thought that first raptor in the opening scene died. Everyone has their own opinions, and my opinion was never really popular. It made me smile to hear someone so esteemed in the JP community echo my thoughts and even adding factual insights into the idea.

Yeah man that noise the Raptor made after the last “SHOOT HER” always signified it’s death for me too. I’ve argued with a friend about it a few times and he says the noise was part of the music. That definitely sounds like a deliberate final breath but whatever lol. I think people greatly underestimate the power of a single shotgun, let alone multiple. That Raptor would’ve been in chunks on the floor after. Plus, at the very least, that Raptor wouldn’t be walking around and jumping without any noticeable scars. Great video!

I think we assume it was the big one because S/he (according to some theories that the Big One was transitioning and thus the Raptor Eggs Grant and the Kids find) was because she Bolder, Smarter and Meaner than all the other Raptors.

The rationalization I always had was that each Raptor probably costs tens of millions (if not more) to make, at least back in those days when cloning a Sheep was a a monumental project and that it was just LOUD Tranqs being fired.

But your theory does hold water and now it seems likely that the Big One could only be blamed for encouraging such an action prior to them being transferred as it was her fault they were moving them to the small pen to begin with... So she might have been encouraging Raptors to be more mean and ambitiously so.

The only evidence against your theory is that Robert said she killed "all but two of the others" and we know that by the time the paddock shut down, there was THREE Raptors left, but Robert might have meant that she had also GOTTEN Raptors killed (attacking the fences and by extension armed workers)

I always heard the gun blasts (kind of hard to miss) but this is the first time anyone pointed out the "dying" noises. Thank you Klayton for clearing this up. This kind of detail is why your channel is so solid!

Klayton has the best intros in all of youtube.
Change my mind.

Honestly, I’m content to believe that the one in the beginning and the one that kills Muldoon, and the last raptor to be killed by the Rex, is the Big One. Not because I have any evidence to support it, but simply because it’s more poetic in my opinion.

I am one of those people that assumed that it was the Big One, of course, looking back it doesn't make sense given that this particular raptor didn't survive to see the Big One's hostile take over.

You know, the raptor in the cage at the beginning being a 4th one makes a lot of sense if you think about it because it would explain why the raptors are so aggressive towards the human characters later in the film. They know that humans killed one of their own.

I always thought that “shoot her!” Meant shoot her with tranquilizers. I never really paid attention to what each worker had in terms of weapons, but I always assumed that only Muldoon had the shotgun in case the raptor escaped.

My thinking is due to the JW scene where the ACU go after the Indominus Rex with nonlethals because they had millions of dollars invested in the animal, just like Hammond had millions of dollars invested in the raptors.
