One of my near death experiences was at my grandparent's house, there was a lake and they put up this blue floating foam map that was big enough for a couple people to stand on, and people started swimming under it. I decided to swim under but my stupid cousins started pushing the mat the way I was swimming. I pounded at the mat and pushed with all my might but it felt superglued to the water. I almost turned back but I decided that was too late and I swam forward so fast. my head breaching the surface was one of the best feelings of relief ive ever felt. dont trust your cousins, kids. And no way in hell am I swimming under that again 😅

One of my near death experiences was, when I was nine or eight at the time I went swimming in the ocean because we were at the beach at the time but everyone was on land. At the time but at the time I didn't know how to swim. So I slowly get pulled out of the shallow part into the reef. No one noticed at the time because I was the only one in the water and I was trying to call for help bet no one heard. then I was just fighting for my life because I didn't want to die a then wave comes in brings me back to the shallow part of the sea. I never told anyone. But when I turned eleven I told her and she was shocked. Thank god I did not drown because of that one wave that saved me and just went my day like nothing just happened I was really horrified about that day

one of my near-death experiences was when i was in elementary school and taking swimming lessons. keep in mind this need is extra-embarrassing, considering my dad used to be a life guard.

we were learning how to climb out of the pool using the wall, and when it was my turn i was held up to the ledge until i grabbed onto it. me having tiny grabbers and being clumsy, i quickly slipped and was underwater. I remember being eerily calm, my eyes were open without any pain either. i know now my brain was desperately trying to assess the situation while in a state I call "Calculating Calm" idk if anyone else gets that or if it has an official term. after, say, 10 seconds give or take i was lifted out of the water and helped up the ledge. first time i didnt cry after a swimming lesson, and i still cant swim, or even let water drip onto and down my face to this day :D
