If any country's embassy has been attacked, it is an attack on their sovereign territory. The US, or any other Western state, would retaliate militarily in legitimate self-defence.
It is no different vis a vis, Iran; it has the legitimate right to respond.

That is why Israel will be forced to invade at least southern Lebanon so as to drive back Hezbollah to the boundary agreed by the UN. Hezbollah are in effect weak as Israel has already demonstrated in past conflicts that they are no match for the IDF. As stated, Iran's military has little experience in modern warfare and will suffer badly in a direct conflict with Israel or the US.
