One use for Temptations is as a "cat locator." Whenever I can't find one of the cats, I shake the Temptations package and they come running.

We give them a handful of temptations with every dose of medication - 1) it means they remind us when it's time. 2) they're 18, keeping weight on them is a real struggle, I've thrown every petfood product I can get my hands on to keep them from deteriorating.

Apollo gets these about once a day or every other day, but I put them in these puzzle type treat toys that give him a slight challenge to get them out. I think it's so much better than just plopping down a handful of treats... And Apollo loves these toys!

Could you do more #shorts reviews of different cat treat brands, different purposes? Ex: hairball control, fur-skin, etc.

I feed my cat freeze-dried shrimp and minnows. It's actually cheaper in the long-run because I'm more conscious of _how_ I use them. Plus, I can easily break the treats into smaller pieces so they last longer _and_ they don't get stale in the bag! One bag has lasted me over 8 months, but they are theoretically good for almost 2 years!

They used to make “Temptations Natural” in chicken, tuna and salmon (although I had to get the salmon at Pet Supermarket), which was a much better, limited ingredient list, and all 5 of my cats loved them. I emailed the company when I couldn’t find them anymore; they chose to discontinue making them. Since then, I've tried a variety of treats - Pet Greens, Cat Craves, Wildly Natural, Wellness Kittles, Feline Greenies Smart Bites, and a new one I haven’t tried yet - Caledon Farms limited ingredient. My “old lady” gets Glycoflex. Since she’s been getting those, she can jump up on the couch and counters again (hmmm, should’ve rethought that). Anyway, my MIL bought them a variety pack of regular Temptations for Christmas a couple of years ago, and those are the only ones they really want. They’ll eat the others, but something about Temptations is like crack to them. They get them a couple of times a week, but seem so disappointed when they get any of the other treats.

Ours get a few pieces each, twice daily at 8:00 am and at 6:00 pm. It keeps them time-grounded and reinforces routine, something they enjoy.

It also lets us know if something is up with them. If they don't start ghosting around the dining room at treat time they get a thorough inspection and it may be time for a vet visit.

My cat loves them in my cat never plays and he’s very serious all the time when I pull one out he gets very excited

My dad works for a bunch of cat and dog food companies and one of them is temptations and he said all the products they put in are completely healthy and good for your cat

Great advice. My cats don’t even like them too good. They will eat them but sure don’t go crazy for them.

Our kitties love them, and they're great for food puzzles. Just beware: twice now we have had tainted Temptations treats that got both kitties sick (vomiting and diarrhea) and one kitty had it so bad she had to go to the vet twice. We've since switched to freeze dried chicken and turkey treats.

That's the brand of treat I buy. I put them in puzzle toys so it's a treat they have to work for.

I use these to help keep weight on my old-enough-to-drive kitty lol. She's inconsistent on her regular food (wet 2x/day, kibbles always out) but she's always up for treats. And ice cream but gotta draw a line somewhere :p

Good advice re not making them a mainstay of your cat's diet. I don't think that I've ever given my 18-yr-old any of these treats, but he has had plenty of opportunities to engage his mind and still thinks that he is a kitten! 😵🙃

I give my cats, greenies treats, blie treats, or baby food (chicken flavor) as a lickable treat
