Welcome to this virtual walk in Vienna, recorded in 4K HDR for the best viewing quality. This time I'm walking in the 8th district.
Josefstadt belongs to the inner districts of Vienna.
Josefstadt is a popular and densely populated inner-city district. Josefstädter Straße is the main shopping street in this district. The Theater in der Josefstadt, which has existed since 1822, is one of many playhouses. About 25,000 people live in this district, which is also the smallest district in Vienna. Attentive Vienna connoisseurs will notice that I started the walk in the last part of the first district (back of the Parliament). The 8th district begins when we cross Landesgerichtsstraße (3:50).

Hey anbax, you captured the exact place I lived in on your walk down Floriangasse — Wickenburggasse — at around 34:22. 2nd building on the left and 3rd floor. I had the room with the large windows. What a coincidence. From this location, I walked 3 blocks to the Ringstrasse to take the strassebahn to the music hochschule. I also was able to see over 50 operas in the Staatsoper and over 50 concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic in the Musikverein. What a year. (1971-72, age 22). Thanks for the memory reload. Love your videos. Love the wonderful city of Vienna.
