The DJI deffo looks sharper but the colour also looks more natural to my eyes plus you can use an external wireless mic like the Rode wireless Me and you don't need to buy a "media mod" to use it and you can swap out batteries without having to take everything apart

Great job on the comparison. One feature I'm curious about is the UVC output mode on the DJI and whether it still supports stabilization while in that mode. Could be great for IRL streaming with an external encoder. I don't think the GoPro offers UVC as all.

Overheating test. Bet the fps was not the same

Dji 4k 120fps for 45 mins
And Gopro 12 4K Gopro 12 can only record in 62 min on 4k 120fps, and 102 min on 30 fps.

I have the osmo action 3 and GoPro hero 8 both are great one thing is the GoPro preset menu is awesome but I think dji had caught up now great review

Nice video, I’m puzzled with your image comparison for detail/sharpness. Other videos show the opposite with GoPro having the advantage. I’m totally confused….. was this set to log?

2:01 for the stabilization part, I don't think it's fair to compare the stabilization when action 4 is on its wider or ultrawide mode and gopro on its linear mode. The stabilization capabilities are both largely affected by the FOV mode and the stabilization mode. Meanwhile, I'm wondering what your settings are. In my daily use, if I manually limit the ISO or shutter speed, the stabilization on action 4 would be weird and jittery. But if I set it all in auto, everything is buttery smooth. I'm thinking it might be due to the different priorities of action cams EIS strategy when it comes to the stabilization. I would suggest doing a stabilization test when everything is set to auto and using its widest FOV and lowest stabilization mode. But still, thanks for your comparison video. Still learning a lot!

I'm looking for an action camera that will run 2 hours straight, without over-heating, for motorcycle endurance racing. I have watched many others' race footage, to find that their Gopro overheated. During the race, there is no time to make adjustments. Of all camera options, what would you recommend?

Excuse me, where specifically did you test the batteries for oveheating? I mean which country? Did you know that it depends in which country the DJI is situated? There are higher limits of temperature wneh you are in the USA. Did you see similar test from your american collegues? Usually they have DJI as a winner

I just got the GoPro 12, as a bday gift. My first GoPro. I love it. Great camera, pocketable, fun. I use it for simple daily vlogging, not action. So far, so good. I also have a Sony ZV1, and you better believe I have my eyes set on the OSMO Pocket 3, but the GoPro is a great “throw in my jacket pocket” and never worry camera. I also got the Volta, which is brilliant. I can film for hours and hours on one battery. I love it!

Gopros fail on me all the time, cold, warm, dry, wet, studio, location. They're just unreliable and it's a gamble using them. Dji all day. I'll never use a gopro again tbh.

Kai, nice comparison but one key benefit of the OA4 is the ability to easily use it with external microphones like the DJI lav mics. Would have been nice to mention that since you have used it in some of the shots.
