Mirabai Chanu wins gold at Commonwealth Games

Description: Imphal's Mirabai Chanu won India's first gold at the Commonwealth Games in Australia for weightlifting. She also broke the world record by lifting 194 kg - 85 kg snatch and 109 kg clean-and-jerk. Chanu had not performed well at the 2016 Rio Olympics but bounced right back at the current games. The one complaint the heavy lifter had that there was no physiotherapist available at the games, which is of utmost importance especially if you are a heavy lifter.
