I learned to think of positive and negative energy, as 2 different types of currency
as in, positive energy is like gold coins
and negative energy as silver coins
if the inside has + 5, that is like 5 gold coins
and the outside has +15, so 15 gold coins

the inside has +5, which is 10 less positive energy ( or 10 less gold coins)
the outside is "richer" in positive energy
the inside of the cell has fewer "gold coins" or quantity of positive energy
