The Incredible History Behind Ketchup

Ketchup. You’ll find it at every diner, every barbecue, and in 97% of US homes. It’s fair to say that the condiment is beloved by many as an accent to some of their favorite meals. But how much do you really know about ketchup? Because, as we’ll find out, it dates back hundreds, if not thousands of years, existing back when tomatoes were thought to be poisonous and consistenting of less desirable ingredients. It’s been touted as a miracle cure for countless ailments, yet determined by many to have led to the deaths of those that consumed it.

Most doctors back in the day really had no clue what they were doing. At least ketchup isn't as bad as mercury or radium which were shockingly popular prescriptions for doctors to give out.
