Antidote to Overwhelm

Показать описание
[00:00] This is Steve Lishansky. And I want to talk to you about the antidote to overwhelm. There is no more mooder emotion, more prevalent in the world today in an
[00:10] organization, than overwhelm. And what’s the cause of overwhelm? Because we understand how it works. We can also create a very simple and powerful solution. But most
[00:20] people just get overwhelmed and they don’t know what to do with it. Here’s what I would say about what overwhelm is. Overwhelm is having too many unanswered questions than you can handle.
[00:30] Whatever that number is, whether it’s two or it’s twenty, if you have more questions, which could include: How am I going to get this done, How am I going to do this? How am I going to communicate this? How am I going to deal with this
[00:40] person? Too many unanswered questions is the source of overwhelm. And what happens when you start trying to organize them in your mind? You lose track of
[00:50] how many there really are. Here’s the solution for you. Write down everything that you think needs to be done. Everything. Get it out of your head.
[01:00] You’d be surprised—it might take you five minutes, it might take you ten, it might take you fifteen. But I have rarely seen it take more than that. And in that period of time, you get it all out of your head, and then you look at it
[01:10] and say, “What are my highest priorities?” And you start working on those. I guarantee you, you do this practice, you will change
[01:20] your state of overwhelm to one of effective and productive impact. You want to solve overwhelm? Get it out of your head, prioritize it, go to work on your top priorities.
[01:30] This is Steve Lishansky. I look forward to seeing you on our other videos.
