I personally like Frankie x Cleo in G3. But I will still always love Cleo x Deuce in G1. 💛

Maybe this is why they made Cleo & Frankie more blue toned, now their colour scheme matches as well !

I’m an outsider to monster high, but I think it’s neat to have a canon nblw relationship in a show for little girls- the show has done a lot already to push normalizing topics like autism for the new younger audience and the aspect of normalizing a nblw relationship is just as swell.

Initially I was like "WTF?" Not because I'm homophobic or anything as I'm bi, but as a fan of G1, their characters just don't work romantically in my head. But then I remembered that a lot, if not all of the characters have new personalities in G3 so upon further investigation, I'm all for it. They definitely work and I can't wait to see where it goes!!

Since they changed Cleo's and Deuce's characters in G3, I didn't really feel like there was a lot of potential between them. Frankie and Cleo works better and I'm really happy to see it.

It still hurts to see people thinking that by representing an lgbtq character(s) in movie's(or tv shows) that are targeted towards children, make them "unappropriate." This way of thinking is so toxic and harmful, using the logic of dose people representing a straight person(s) in a relationship is also unappropriate. The thing is that they don't realize how important this is towards kids. It helps them understand people around them and understand themselves to an extent. I'll give myself as an example. When I was 8, I remember starting to watch "Scooby doo mystery incorporated, " and in season two, Velma was queer coded she was in a relationship with a character named "Hotdog water" (it was some kind of a nickname), and when I saw them it made me feel, well nice. Keep in mind that at that age, I still haven't figured out a thing about my sexuality, but what it showed me was that people are different, and that's okay. I hope that helped in some way. If anyone has red, it thank you for the time.

as a bisexual woman (with a strong preference for women) I found myself attracted to so many female characters as a kid without ever realizing it was attraction. I’d never even heard the word “gay” until hillary duff told people in commercials not to use it as an insult. I would’ve absolutely loved to have something like this growing up to show me what I was feeling and how it’s something I was allowed to feel. young me always thought I just really wanted to be their friend, it would’ve meant a lot to me if I’d been able to find out about my sexuality sooner and see that it was indeed possible for a girl to like a girl and a guy to like a guy. I’m happy that kids now get to have that, regardless of what characters they chose to represent it.

I don't mind the Clankie relationship, I personally think it'd be fun to explore! I do hope though that with this generation, if Neighthan and/or Valentine get added that one or both of them will be gay. Although I'm not too sure on Valentine's part, I do remember seeing that Neighthan was supposed to be gay, but someone on the team said that it "wasn't time" for something like that. Well, now's the time! Also, I really appreciate how you add other voices (no matter how off the walls they may seem), it really allows for different points to be seen, so other points can be created!

I don't see why it's "inappropriate" for children. It is two characters developing feelings for each other. It's not inappropriate when a male and a female character develop feelings for one another. And coming from a gay man, I would have LOVED to see this representation as a child because everything in the media was straight couples, so I always felt that there was something wrong with me because I thought boys were cute, but no characters on tv liked their same gender. I think this will LGBTQ+ youth feel comfortable with their identities and not feel so scared about it like I did and accept themselves for who they are earlier in life. I know this would have meant the world to my younger self.

As a queer person and a long-time MH fan, I couldn't be happier for seeing two of my favorite characters getting together and giving representation to the clawmunity. For everyone who thinks is "unnecessary" or "inappropriate" to have LGBTQ+ characters on animated shows, or shows meant for kids, I have a couple of things for you:
- LGBTQ+ people EXIST EVERYWHERE and will exist, whether you want it or not. If you think it's inappropriate to have LGBTQ+ characters/ relationships in a show that is "meant for kids", don't you think it is also inappropriate to have straight/ heterosexual dynamics on it? After all, according to that mindset, it's also pushing sexuality torwards a child. Instead of throwing rage and negativity, remember that MH message was always about inclusion and diversity. Back then, it was pretty metaphorical, but since the times are changing, we need concrete examples that can teach this future generation that everyone is different, and it´s totally fine to be different, all we have to do is to respect the other's individuality.

Tbh about the Draculaura x Clawdeen ship

I've never seen clawdeen as a lesbian (or any orientation for that matter) because I've always perceived her as a ghoul that's really devoted to their passions (like becoming a fashion designer) that doesn't really need to be paired with anyone to thrill, personally that planted the seed on my head that I don't really need a partner to be happy and "have it all" and as much as I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community, It always felt jarring to me the idea of people assuming she's lesbian just because she isn't giving on the boy craze like the rest of her group 😅

My 3 year old son LOVES the new Monster High cartoon and I for one am so, so thankful for it including such incredible diversity, especially with the LGBTQIA+ visibility. I want him to grow up in a world where he can recognize that love has no gender boundaries. As he gets older, I can discuss that with him, but words are words, while SEEING is believing. This needs no discussion other than "they like each other, isn't it sweet?" and he agrees, every time.

Isn't it kinda weird how when a show has an LGBT character, suddenly everyone goes "not everything has to be LGBT"... like GIRL, there are 12 other characters that are straight damn

I cannot stress how important representation is. Sure, I'm Bi so I've always had some degree of representation with straight media, but I havn't found much that encapuslates the real Bi experience for me. I can see the longing of other queer communities though to see themselves represented in media. It just feels nice, you feel seen and you feel less alone as a person.

I'll compare it the autism representation in this show. Twyla in the show has autism, and when I found it out I cried I was so happy. Autism in AFAB people presents differently than it does for AMAB people. It often goes unnoticed in AFAB because of it's overall rarity in biological females or most people only knowing autism or the symptoms present in biological males. So being AFAB, my autism went unrecignized until recently. Looking back it was so obvious, but growing up I was always told I was weird or different for having these symptoms, and finally understanding what those were has been so releving. I don't feel alone anymore, I don't feel alien or that something is wrong with me because I was able to see other AFAB who have autism as well. I can learn and see online how AFAB autism is different to AMAB autism, the general links between the two, and what I can do to better fit my own needs. If I didn't see other people with the same issue, I would have no idea that I was normal, and would still be struggling with the symptoms today (not that they're gone by any means, just managed)

I've always resonated with Twyla because our personalities were similar when I was younger, and the name is so similar to my own so she was one of my favorites. So seeing in one of the recent episodes that she was autistic was really heartwarming. Hopefully it shows other kids who were like me, weird and unusual that their expereince is totally normal. Thats there nothing wrong with them, that there are other people like you who struggle like you. Hopefully someone watching can realize that they might have autism too, maybe even sooner so they can grow up with the help they need.

If nothing else it exposes people to the topic, making it much less intimidating to learn about. The more people see it on television, the less bothered they are about it in real life. It makes it's target demographic, younger girls, more open to ideas and experiences different from their own. Thats the whole point of the show, is to discuss everyone diversity and uniqueness, so it only makes sense that diversity and uniquenss reaches into POC, queer, and neurodiverse characters.

How homophobes get upset about the "over-representation" in media is how our community feels about cis, hetero, and neurotypical represenation. The difference is that we're not coming from a place of hatred or bigotry, we're coming from a genuine want to feel seen and not treated as weird or different. People don't want to be alone or ostricised, regardless of who or what they are--its just core to the human experience.

Media should reflect the wide diveristy in humanity itself. The only reason people have an issue with this much diversity existing in media is because they think it shouldn't exist in reality either. It might not reflect your own personal experience but THATS OKAY. No everything has to reflect you. Your own personal experience may be drastically different, and you might not be used to seeing this much diversity. If thats the case I urge you to change that and get more involved in more diverse communities.

I grew up in a majority white town and you could count all the kids of color on two hands (class sizes ranged in the 400 of studetns, and you could count the number of not white kids in the entire school on just two hands)---so I can understand. It's scary to get out of your comfort zone and learn about experiences different than you own. I've been there before. But growing my own perspective of the world and those around me has been worth all the extra effort. Theres a lot of beauty in diversity, but you have to be willing to go see it.

(appoligies for the essay word vomit. I doubt anyone would read the whole thing but if you did thanks! It's more of a vent than it is actually persauve but at least I'm boosting the video lol)

When i think about Monster High. I think of these characters as story telling pieces. Because the heart of Monster High is diversity and accepting freaky flaws. With any iterations, i am down if they experiment on the formula. Personally, i am happy too see where it goes. It isn't my own ideal version. But i still like it, plus it was designed with the intent of being diffrent.

I LOVE Frankie and Cleo’s relationship!

I never really thought of it before, but it’s actually really great in my opinion. Because as much as I love Cleo and Deuce, I honestly see the newer generation to be different from the others (which I think was supposed to be true, with how their personalities changed and that they look different)

I haven’t been able to watch any of the new stuff, as I don’t know where I can, but from clips I’ve seen, it’s just great!

The three things I can think of that I don’t like is that Lagoona is very very different and she used to be one of my favorite characters, Clawdeen x Deuce, and the fact that Clawdeen’s family is kind of confusing and Clawd is the only sibling mentioned so far (that I’m aware of)

Other than that, I absolutely love the new series!

This only worked for me cause they’re both very different from their G1 version. If this ship was made with G1 in mind, I can’t even imagine it, but with these almost completely different people I can definitely feel their chemistry.
