I will be 54 in April, and my skin is dry. I currently use Guerlain’s L’Or. I do love it, although I recognize that is expensive... about 65/70$... But I must say that I work as an air hostess and every time I use it, may make up keeps in place perfectly for about 15 to 16 hours

You got me hooked on the hour glass veil and the strivectin. I live in humid South Georgia and the hour glass in wonderful for the summer and our high humidity but I like the strivectin when I feel really dry!!! Thank you for keeping us all so well informed!!!

I just turned 40 on Feb 1st and have normal to dry skin. I really love Ole Henrikson Banana primer! I also like Elf Luminous Putty primer and Milani Bright Side Illuminating primer.

I was using the Hourglass veil primer which worked well until I started using retinol. My skin is now dry. I tried the Urban Decay Ultra Glow All Nighter and it works better with my dry skin.

I learned the reason why one of those primers wasn't working for my dry skin makeup forever was because it was combating shine I didn't have any oils either so thank you Risa! Ill keep looking for my perfect one. I'm liking smashbox now not sure if I'll stay with it!

A dupe for the Hourglass mineral veil primer is the Joah Blur Activator Mineral Primer for $11.99 at CVS. I’ve used the $54 Hourglass one, and they are practically identical. I’ve tried a few things from Joah lately and have been so impressed, I’d love some see some reviews on this affordable brand.

My oily skin loves Touche Èclat. Makes my foundation look phenomenal. I save it for bouguier moments. Otherwise, I love Tarte Double Duty Beauty Base Tape. It hydrates like crazy! Keeps oils down. Also love VDL Satin Veil primer because it's lovely at half the price of the premier brands.

I’m looking for a primer that smoothes pores and provides a great canvas for makeup. I’m 50 with normal skin but have large pores concentrated on and around my nose, and texture from loss of elasticity in my skin. Most pore primers are for oil control, but as I don’t have that issue, I’m not sure which is best for me. I do like the Hourglass primer though. I don’t like the Tatcha primer. 🥰
