When I saw this at the theater back in 1983, I honestly thought this would be the last Bond film. Or at least the one with Sir Roger. Octopussy seemed like more than just the run of the mill Bond girl. She was older, more mature and set in her ways. Same thing goes for him. By the end of the film, I could see him retiring from MI-6 and taking her up on her offer. I didn’t know it at the time but this was supposed to be Moores last stint as James Bond. But they bought him back for A View To A Kill. But by then, Sir Roger had aged out for the role of James Bond.

The "love scene" starts off more like a rape scene - she pulls away and he has to forcefully hold her head to kiss her. Several classic Bond love scenes have similar issues, where they start with physical force and without consent. I think these scenes not only send a harmful message, but make otherwise classic movies cringeworthy to watch.
