OCTOPUSSY | Acrostar Jet

Показать описание
Bond gets out of a scrape in OCTOPUSSY using the nifty Acrostar ”Bede” Jet. For close-ups of Bond manoeuvring the jet through a hangar, special effects supervisor John Richardson mounted a plane on a pole attached to a stripped-down Jaguar. The car was driven through the hangar at breakneck speed, soldiers running in front of the car to hide the chassis.

I love it when he flies through the hangar. The jet sound turns into a diving JU-87 stuka (propeller plane) and he goes from flying at mach 1 to knife edging at 20 mph haha

I forget how good that scene is. It is totally ridiculous but exciting as hell. And that little jet looks awesome as it darts through the air

It's so ridiculous that it's brilliant. I love it, and Moore delivers that line so perfectly.

One of the best pre-title sequences. Also the last in which it's a separate mini mission and not connected to the main story.

The most realistic part of this whole scene is that for once when a plane runs out of fuel in a movie, it doesn't just fall out of the sky.

From a time when Bond movies were entertainment. One can watch and enjoy these movies over and over again.

Bede BD-5J; The model used in the movie had a fuel load of about 26 gallons and could fly about 75-90 minutes at cruise. Later versions (Coors, Budweiser "Silver Bullet") carried up to 32 Gallon tank.

Great scene and Sir Commander Roger Moore a great bond you'll be sorely missed.

this is why i love roger moore. he can be serious when he wants but also finds way to liven things up such as that "fill 'er up". i think after "the spy who loved me", he became more relaxed and comfortable in that role where he was just having fun and i think the films he made afterwards was him just having fun and it made the film sets a lot of fun.

As a boy this was our most favoured of the Bond pursuits: the victory spin at the end remains, even to our mature eyes, pleasing.
