A MASSIVE Failure for Galaxy of Heroes? - Baylan Skoll Initial Gameplay Review

We have FINALLY unlocked Baylan Skoll in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes! However, his release has not been widely enjoyed so far. Is he a massive failure in SWGoH? I feel very optimistic he will be incredibly powerful. but time will tell.

He seems to be another character relegated to his Omicron game mode but won’t be doing anything crazy outside of that. At least it’s GAC, the most valuable omicrons

Not shocked this is essentially what the game has become. Release a $1000 character that is one dimensional and only works if he has a full compliment of one of the rarest materials in the game.

It’s a bit sad that he’s seemingly relying on his Omicrons, Shin’s omicron, and Hondo’s omicron to be meta-defining. I guess we’ll have to see what the Omicrons together can do. I’m optimistic that he’ll be really good with the Omicrons, but the mere idea that we may have to rely on them for him to stand in the meta is a bit disappointing.

It’s even worse when he is likely having to rely on his exclusive Datacron too.

Also, the November Daily Webstore chest can give Maul shards. Maybe make a video on that to make sure everybody knows?

Hot take, I don't like Malicos. At least Malgus and Baylan seem to only NEED 1, maybe 2 omis. But Malicos needs FOUR just to be good in one gamemode. Granted, he's pretty banger in that gamemode with the omis, but I personally don't want to put a bunch of resources into a team, just to have to dump rare materials into it so it can be useful in one specific gamemode.

I think if Doubt were to be not tied to Omicron, most of his non-GL counters are automatically shut down like Troopers - CG could just do that simple fix imho

High starkiller vibes. I dont like characters like these. I prefer all-gamemodes usage rather than sticking to one.
In contrast, zorri made Resistance so much better that i can use them everywhere i want. Baylan seems only-gac beast, maybe TW with shin omi at best. This is hard pass for me. I like BKM more.

I just think he'll be more of a Starkiller-Malicos. I wish we could have Bane or Luthen every time, but CG is CG. At least we know Baylan will probably smash in Grand Arena, especially while he has the Datacron.

I think the biggest issue with comparing him to malicos and malgus is they are conquest units. you dont smash kyro on marquees to get him
50% of the kit being locked behind omis is a conquest "level" toon, not a epic confrontation. Its very not cool to shift them back that far, when bo day 1 was doing way better

Not every new team should be new meta team. Gungans should never be that strong team lore wise for example.

Feels Bad man… together with General Griveous and Ashoka, Shin Hati and Baylan became one of my favorite Star Wars characters of all time… I wasn’t getting him on first run, but was expecting him to do great… but not even a Datacron designed to make him unfair…isn’t making him as good as he should has been… disappointed to say the least

I don’t mind subpar units being amazing in a single game mode with datacrons, but completely butchering an expensive epic confrontation unit only to be good in one game mode is so dumb. He should stand toe to toe with the best be even more amazing in GAC.
