Saw Joni perform at a theater in Columbus Ohio. After the show we saw a limo & small group of people at back stage door. Joni came out a bit surprised but stayed and talked to everyone for a half hour or so. She was gracious and funny. Such a delightful moment.

David Crosby didn't exactly "discover" Joni Mitchell.
She had already performed on national Canadian TV from 1965, & Tom Rush had already recognized her songwriting ability by recording "Urge For Going".
Crosby made the connections in L.A. that launched her big-time career, but she wasn't exactly an 'unknown' at the time.
