We have been in Iraq longer than Afghanistan. Why do they keep getting it wrong?

the ineffective strike needs to stop being praised so much. it was ultimately more anti-morale than anti-materiel.

The thing to fear is GOP congress not doing their job, and deciding when a military response is needed.

What's next? Ask Ivanka, she is the one who told President Trump he needed to do something in Syria.

Problem with Durbin's sense of military history: how many individuals were actually involved in the attacks of 9/11? But when we invaded Afghanistan, it was to impose our "democratic values" on the whole country. We would have been better off fighting the war on drugs by cutting a deal with the Warlords for their heroin. Certainly we had no way of telling the good guys from the bad guys. Similarly, when we invaded Iraq (in order further to diffuse our forces in Afghanistan, we included an anti-abortion clause as a requirement for any possible contractors there. Follow the money.

Now when chemical weapons appear to strengthen Putin's hand in our efforts to mobilize the world against terror, we overlook the basis of this conflict in religious differences, not political interests. So when our United Nations ambassador proposes "regime change" to undermine any concept of sovereignty in the world order, then our Secretary of State denies that goal, what's left of our "national interest" after Republican regimes have spent all our capital on destroying our credibility as the moral opposition to Assad's utter lack of legitimacy among sovereigns? Who has promoted the ranks of terrorists more than than United States, giving them political cover in this religious civil war?

Which brings us to Donald Trump and Russian interference in our elections, which reduces any possibilities for peace at the United Nations to opposing forces of propaganda that have taken control over "the media, " making corporations sovereign in American and monopolies powerful in Russia.

Trump's cruise missile strike Maddy have been overall a good move, but Trump is acting like he solved Syria with one fell macho swoop... Wrong.
