Chances are the monster lady was a illusion, and maybe even your Neighbor and best friend. There is actually a movie where the main character has Schizophrenia, and it's really interesting. However, I got off topic. This is all just a theory and I'm to lazy to test it. (And if you want to know the movie is called Patch Adams.)
