Its all about leverage! You can use almost anything to open a bottle. The buckle would've worked fine if you placed it in your hand the right way and used your finger for leverage.

As a Hispanic and Mexican heritage. My family taught me how to open a coke, beer and Joya bottles with a lighter, a rock, a pen, a pencil, another bottle, a cabinet handle, seat belt buckle, a knife, a toy and my tooth. You have lots to learn grasshopper... especially when you have leverage 😉

You can literally use anything, you just have to use leverage. I’ve opened a bottle before with my keys, the crosswalk button, a pole, and a shoe . You just have to angle it right and apply pressure

I’ve seen people open these with their bare hands like a screw top, and I’ve even done it a couple times before. It helps to cover your hand with your shirt, or preferably your jacket made of denim or some other thick material to protect your hand.

It’s easy for veteran beer drinkers to open bottled beverages. The trick is to apply pressure with the hand you’re holding the bottle with to the device you’re trying to open it with. I can open a bottle with another bottle, chopsticks, car keys, fork, spoon, butter knife, lighter, or anything with a flat or round surface. The seat belt buckle is the best choice you had, but you had to use the flat side not the hole.

Leverage, but it does hurt sometimes lol, also, find a solid edge, like a counter top you dont care about, place the lid on the edge at an angle, and smack the top of the bottle with your palm while holding the bottle with the other, cap comes flying off.

You can literally use anything that you can get to stick on the edge, just hold the neck of the bottle high near the cap, put your opening tool between your finger and the cap and use the leverage and your finger as a fulcrum
