'Should benefits rise with inflation?'

Former chancellor Rishi Sunak said benefits would be uprated in line with inflation, but there is a possibility this may no longer be the case with a new team in place.

Brandon Lewis will not comment on the government's approach to benefits, preferring to wait for an official announcement.

Why bother asking a politician a question.

I just love karma.

Only on this decision, I'm completely with Lizzie. Lots of lazy unemployed welches switched allegiance and voted for the Tories a few years ago, so this is music to my ears.

Even people who earn the minimum wage are going to get squeezed to kingdom come. Many of them are also responsible for this mess and are going to learn that the working class should NEVER vote Tory!

No. If nurses, bin men, or any key worker can’t get inflation rate rise. Why should the work shy?

I work and rely on benefits to pay my rent. That's how bad this country is.

I'm disabled by the way had a stroke 2 years ago. I'm limited in what I can do. So don't go telling me "get a better job or work more hours"

Benefits don't rise, I lose my home and most likely my job.

Fantastic.

The compassion of this Tory Government is reflected in the ever increasing numbers of people relying on food banks.

Cabinet Collect responsibility? Truss admitted the other day that it wasn't her or the cabinet that took the decision over the tax rate but her chancellor.

If people and pensioners struggle why should the work shy have it all if people are working and need a top to help then they should get it and pensioners who are struggling should have the help as well .

I'm sure politicians are given a course on how to dodge answering questions. They all do it and are very skilled at it ! 😠

Sick of everything being give to those on benefits, when thousands like me have worked all their lives and are on the border line, and will get very little if help,

Politicians never answer the questions put to them. I get an allowance as a unpaid carer. They are very unlikely to do anything for me. If I just do the minimum 35 hours, I receive £1.99 per hour. But caring is not just a 35 hour a week job, so that hourly rate is always lower because we do not get anything for the hours beyond 35 hours.

He is not answering the question, he looks like my Dad, Jeff Fitzgerald. What is Inflation? Majority of the flock are positive now, nobody wants free things. What is causing that inflation? Will Bonds help the nation? On my side, what is the cause of inflation, I have never been in Europe, to me it is poor planning, especially in the leadership, second is no loyalty, leaders are politically thinking - let's remove him/her from that seat. Third, Power.

Well… duh. These people have degrees and can’t answer that.

His opinion is to complicated if it taking from his house and lifestyle that would be a no now if we can figure out how we can get the tax payers to cover it that would be a yes😂😂😂😂

Very few wages are keeping up with inflation so why should benefits? Fair enough keep vulnerable people safe and fed but the vast majority of people on benefits are freeloaders!
