*Not painted on grass! ;)* Someone I know dropped this HP PC from 2002 off, said it was in his yard and he wasnt sure if it even worked. I dont think it was outside for too long, but there was snow and frozen grass on the side panels.
After cleaning and replacing a few parts, and reinstalling Windows XP, all it needs is a decent AGP graphics card! Looking forward to playing around on this one. Features an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ Thoroughbred CPU, 160gb HDD, 2gb's DDR RAM, and a case that will look familiar to anyone alive in 2002.

I forgot that I have a system very similar to this in my basement. Might repurpose it now that I remember I have it as a NAS or something.

I had one of those around the turn of the century; same form factor and case style, anyway. Used a Slot-A (similar to Intel's Slot-1) configuration with a 733mhz Athlon. I pulled the board out, flashed the BIOS, upgraded the RAM (to 768mb, I think) and it was my wife's daily driver for many years, 'til I did a 1st gen. i3 build for her.

having 2 optical drives, in the arrangement seen here, was very common in that era. people wanted 2 drives so they could do direct copy operations, instead of copying the disc to the hdd first. i was in college about that time and most everyone in knew, who had a desktop, had 2 optical drives. not to mention, they were getting pretty cheap at that time.
