Overview Of My HP Pavilion a1000y Computer (Old Video- Archived)

This video has been archived. Comments are not moderated. This is just a random project computer that I've had for close to a year now.
It works, but needs RAM and a CPU.
The motherboard, RAM, and the CPU were completely WRECKED.
The CPU was pretty much open-circuit. When I stuck it in my Dell Dimension 2400, it acted just as if I had left the 4-pin CPU power connector unplugged and then plugged in the power cord.
The RAM was borked, too. When stuck in my Dell Dimension 2400, it either refused to POST, or beeped at me that there was no RAM installed.
The motherboard was shot, too. Transplanting the RAM and CPU to the motherboard in question(the original motherboard that came with the computer) resulted in the motherboard doing jack squat. All it would ever do is spin the fans connected to the motherboard at full speed and it refused to POST.
I even removed the RAM and it didn't give me any POST error beeps.
I currently have a working motherboard in there, but that's all I've replaced. I may turn it into a garage computer for looking up schematics, etc, when I'm working on something in the garage.
