The government of Western Australia called on east Kwinana residents to evacuate on Sunday as an “out of control” bushfire threatened “lives and homes.”

It said the fire was reported on Sunday afternoon and had burned 70 hectares. The fire was “moving fast in a northerly direction at 800 meters per hour,” it said.

This footage was shared by Twitter user @taurokhun, and shows smoke rising from the fire and helicopters operating in the area.
