My son used to play this on my keyboard. He didn't know how to play, it just came naturally to him. He's been in Heaven since 2000. Tonight, Holy Thursday, I played it for the Lord. Back in 1985-1987 I was in 4th and 5th grade (same teacher for both) in a small Baptist school in Indiana. The teacher would begin class each morning with a devotion including a Bible lesson, prayer, and singing hymns--including this gem. I still remember it fondly to this day.

I haven't seen or heard this tune in almost 20 years only for it to pop up in my head. I had to come search for it.

I attended and was later a teacher at Emmanuel Grammar School, Swansea, Wales. Each day started with “prayers”. This hymn became almost the school song, we often sang it with a descant version, boys and girls singing the separate parts. Whenever I hear this I am transported back to those dear days of long ago!
