We finally got our EF fully funded, 2 months later we had to replace a transmission, water heater, furnace and our air conditioning unit all in one week!!! Needless to say we had to start over. But we had already started our 15% retirement saving. We are about 3/4 of the way again but this time it's going slower. I'm trying to save the $1000 EF. I really need one because I'm tired of not. I only make minimum wage in CA so I bring in between $1200 and $1600 a month. My rent is only $600 . I live with my ex- boyfriend who is giving me a good deal. Private rooms in my area usually cost about $800-$1000 a month. Moving back to parents isn't an option as we really do not get along. Moving to another cheaper state is one of my long term goals but I'd have to save to at least $10, 000 to make the move successful.

Questions, i do have 6 months worth of emergency fund and have a stable job. How should i keep this EF secured? In a savings account or something? i know we are not supposed to invest EF but this is a lot of money which is losing its value because of inflation.

We've used it for food quite a bit. I get off so late and grocery stores are closed. But I'm thinking of taking off 1 day just to go to the grocery store. This is frustrating but I'm sure we will all come out of this ok
