Not only was that interference but that means there would not have been an ensuing goal. Officials can make a mistake, but it is especially egregious when it determines who wins and who loses!

So, Sweden are deadly on the power play and Canada likes to play 1 man short. If they meet up (which is unlikely because Canada will be GONE) I'm guessing....9-1 Sweden. The one goal for Canada will come from a Sweden penalty for farting. This Canada offering is nothing short of embarrassing: the wrong roster, the wrong coach, the wrong management, the predictable outcome!

First Swedish goal shouldn’t have counted. Goal should’ve been disallowed and Sweden should’ve gotten a 5 minute major penalty for interference. Which means Sweden’s second goal likely wouldn’t have happened, and Latvia might’ve scored another. Score should’ve been 2-1 for Sweden or tied 2-2. Despite getting dominated on shots, Latvia kept in it, and almost won, and arguably should’ve won. Very impressive to keep it in. Better luck next year! Cheers from Alberta eh 🇨🇦

Another predictable, subpar game by Sweden. Most of us that have seen this since the 1990s can judge true quality, technique and grit vs. flash in the pan. The TikTok generation in Sweden is weak and meek. They have the best conditions in the world, are well-fed and with both elite coaches and older players mentoring them. Yet, they will have a really hard time against ANY North American team. Extremely disappointing performance, but oh so predictable.
