2025 World Junior Championship Highlights: Czechia vs. Sweden

Herman Traff scored his first two World Junior goals and Sweden defeated Czechia 4-2 to claim first place in Group B on New Year's Eve. The Swedes will battle Latvia in Thursday’s quarter-finals.

Obviously I'll take top seed, and a 4-0 record. However, I recognize our group was way easier than group A. Might even give Latvia the nod over Switzerland and Slovakia so far this tournament, the way they've been playing.

These highlight videos are so random and poorly edited. Some videos are 5 minutes. Some are 10+ minutes. But the 10+ minutes videos doesn't contain more highlights than the short ones, they are just poorly edited. Like this one. The last 10 seconds of the 1st period where nothing happened and then 20 seconds of the commentators talking. 30 seconds that shouldn't be in something called highlights.

gifted penalty shot from IIHF santa claus, but czechia had a bunch of weak penalties as well.. in the end of the day, better team won. i think sweden went for their 5th more than czechs went for their 3rd.

Sweden knew exactly when to take a penalty to prevent a goal. Had they played penalty free, this would have been an even game.

The first Czechia goal was unecessary since it was a won face-off, just lazy work keeping the puck. The second on penalty was poor judgement not trusting your goalie. But all in all a solid game.

Awful refs this game. Czechs suffering on nonexistent penalties and Sweden got one goal from nonexistant ome as well. Let them play ffs...

im fine taking penalties, but you need to avoid the automatic ones with puck over glass and high sticks.
