Central London 'sleep out' in support of homeless

On December 7, London residents slept in the open at Trafalgar Square as part of a global event aimed at ending homelessness. The event, organized by The World's Big Sleep Out Trust, started in 2016 with a small event in Edinburgh, Scotland. "Showing solidarity for people who are homeless is a very good thing," said a participant, "it shouts and speaks volumes for desire to help homeless."

Not to discredit this initiative, but China has been doing this on a much more efficient & larger scale than this, they lifted over 800 million people out of poverty & dire situations in how many years??
The UK & others only do this as part of a charity every year around Christmass, without tackling the reall issue of homeless people, this is always done around Christmass every single year, to make everyone feel good as if they made an effort, but its not really tackling the real issue or cause. In the UK they always do this sort of thing for the less unfortunate only at Christmas time. Call me blunt, frank, harsh but this is the reality of the situation, you're not gonna get rid of homelessness until you tackle the root causes. Doing charity like this means absolutely nothing & is only symbolic & doesn't solve the issue at all. Learn from China how China lifted over 800 million of its people out of dire poverty & dire situations like homelessness. Doing charity work like this for so called solidarity for those homeless people is absolutely useless, it just clears people's conscience of guilt by sleeping out rough for one night or two, how does it help to solve homelessness??? It doesn't.
