Zone 2 Cardio is a low-intensity, basic endurance pace that you could maintain for a long time while having a casual conversation.

This training helps you build a foundation of fitness, where your workouts eventually start to feel easier, and harder workouts feel, well, slightly less punishing.

You can track your zone 2 through a fitness tracker or on the treadmill. To calculate the upper limit of your zone 2, use the following sloppy math equation:

Awesome stuff.

Don’t be afraid to push past zone 2 for exercise. It’s a great place to start/adapt, but heart and overall body health really benefit from higher intensity exercise as well. If impact is an issue, cycling and eliptical trainers are 2 examples of choices that can help with that🙏💜😇

Other formulas online calculate it differently, with some incorporating your resting heartrate.

Peter Attia, Joel Jamieson, Inigo San Milan, Stephen Seiler, Phil Maffetone all say Zone 2 is 70-80% or about 130-150HR for most people.

Why do most Zone 2 experts say Zone 2 is 70-80% but you are saying it is under 70%?

I'm 52. Max HR during TMT is 187. I can run at conversational pace at 155 HR. These equations dont work for me.
