Out for an overnight Summer Solstice wild camping summit camp.

The summer solstice, also known as estival solstice or midsummer, occurs when one of Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun.

It was also nice to meet up with another fellow YouTuber, Scotland’s Mountains, who gave us our early morning wake up call.

Great video Roy! By the way, was up Appin way last week enjoying the summer, and came across a small exhibition which included your prize winning photo. It looked good! Wee cafe overlooking Castle Stalker.

The problem with 1 or 2 person pyramid tents, in my experience, is its impossible to avoid rubbing against the walls of the tent when you sit up. Its a big issue in high condensation environments. You really need a 4 person pyramid to avoid that.

Excellent vlog Ray, I really enjoyed that. I really need to start using my external mic and voice recorder more, your audio was spot on. My sleeping mat is slightly heavier than what you quoted, but not far off. It's 480g. Once you dial in the big 3: rucksack, tent and sleep setup you're well on your way to lightweight/ultra setup, at 7.5kg I'm probably on the cusp of ultra light.

i love trekkiing pole tents ..but sleeping in it during some strong winds is not really pleasant. and i dont feel safe. would u agree it s not ideal or safest choice for mountain trekking, or there are some models that are good enough ?

Great Vid mate. Pot noodle is the food of kings, been doing this for years and cannot get on board with the boil in the bag “meals” at all. Light, carbo loaded and tasty👍👍👍. I like the look of that Robens too. Surprised Robin hasn’t gone for one as it’s kinda personalised. ATB mate.
