Top 10 'Survivor' Fan Favorites | Where Are They Now?
American reality competition show 'Survivor' is based on the original international version of the television franchise, and derives itself from Charlie Parsons’ 1997 Swedish TV series 'Expedition Robinson.' The American show made its premiere on May 31st, 2002 on the CBS network, hosted by Jeff Probst who also executively produces the franchise alongside Mark Burnett and OG creator Charlie Parsons. The ever-successful TV show includes a group of strangers placed on an isolated island where they must provide shelter, food and a way of living for themselves. The competitors go through a series of challenges that blend physical ones, which test their strengths like swimming and running, and their mental capabilities, like endurance challenges and puzzles. This is done to receive immunity from eliminations which eventually leads to rewards. Participants are progressively voted out from the grueling game by their fellow contestants until there is only one person left standing to earn the “Sole Survivor” title. Being given this title leads to grand cash prizes like the standard $1 million dollars or the newer $2 million for Winners At War.
