Jeff Probst’s Favorite Survivor Seasons

I always recommend Cagayan (season 28: brains vs brawn vs beauty) to people. It has EVERYTHING survivor has to offer jam packed into one season. If someone doesnt have a blast watching Cagayan, then Survivor just isnt for them

Millenials vs Gen X is the one I tell people who have never watched survivor before to watch first. Not because it is the best season of all, there are better ones, but because it's got it all: a great cast, a showmance, evacs, idol plays, stealing food, great blindsides (Michaela!), some wild tribal strategy, a winner who has a really fantastic story arc through the show, and even a rock draw! It's a good way for people to understand how the game works and most of the elements that make it so great. Once they are situated and have a good grasp of the show, then they'll appreciate the really top tier seasons, like Cagayan for example, way more

I agree with him on Pearl Islands. That was a great one, and the first season where I saw every episode.

Kinda surprised no one said Fiji. That season had so many twists and blindsides, and the cast was incredibly underrated.

Guatemala is incredibly underrated imo. Blood vs Water (especially the second iteration, 29) is extremely satisfying. The first season of Australian survivor is brilliant.

I did not see Cook Islands Season 13 in the comments section, but it was my first season!!! I totally got the game and from then on, I was so excited to watch the more top-tier ones like H vs V, Cagayan, second chance, phillipines, millenials vs gen x, david vs goliath. I KEEP RECOMMENDING SURVIVOR TO MY FRIENDS BUT THEY DONT LISTEN. These seasons LITERALLY CHANGEd MY LIfe. I was wowing and wowing and wowing. Ok thanks that's it for my ted talk.

For first time watchers, I'd never recommend a returning player season so that rules out HvV and especially WaW. My go-to seasons to tell first time viewers to watch is Cook Islands to see a more old-school, yet entertaining and satisfying season; or Cagayan if you want to see more modern domination of a season.

But my favorite returning players season outside of HvV and WaW is Cambodia: Second Chances. Everyone was there to play and with the voting blocks, it showed a new-school way of how to play the game
