In this Video, I compare the Japanese built Toyota RAV4, plug-in, hybrid, formally known as the Toyota RAV4 prime with the Toyota RAV4’s built here in Canada.

Is there a difference between these three different level of Toyota RAV4’s, RAV4, RAV4 hybrid, and RAV4 plug-in hybrid? Yes, there is a difference, but not when it comes to quality, reliability, and peace of mind!

Both are great, but the Japanese will always have the upper edge, it's just their culture. They are one, united. They are extremely loyal and quality focused like no other.

Both plants have strict quality, the Canadian plants for GM and Toyota have won many awards. Canadians are very good at building cars.

It is common knowledge that the Japanese have a more diligent work ethic.

Last week I bought my wife the Rav4 XSE Hybrid. I waited 3 weeks for a Japanese built unit. Huge difference in fit and finish. Car salesman laughed at me when I said it was a deal breaker. I wax and then ceramic coat my cars often. There are no paint blemishes, no defects of any kind. We are happy with our first Toyota!

Japanese made is top of the notch, no doubt it 😊, you can see the neatness of built quality on workmanship br as a salesman you have to say no difference as a Toyota users we know and we have seen that😊

I was expecting a comparison between a RAV4 built in America and othe rav4 built in Japan. Okey with the conclusion, but is not based on any proof you offered. You are just asking us to trust you

Please do a comparison in Toyota Crown platinum in Canada and Toyota Crown RS advance in Japan. Hell of a difference

I've owned a 20' a 21' and now a 24" Rav4 XLE. I think the Canada plant upped their game lately, as the fit and finish seems noticeably better on the 2024. More like Lexus quality. (panel gaps, gap consistency etc. It even seems a bit quieter.

I have been an automotive technician for 20 years and counting, I thought I would never buy a new vehicle since I can fix them myself, I let someone else get hit by the depreciation then buy a recent used car and maintain and repair it to keep it for as long as possible. When I first started doing maintenance on the RAV4 prime, it changed my mind ( that and the price of used cars skyrocketing since COVID) so I put myself on the waiting list for an XSE prime. About a year later my dealership contacted me about an XSE with Tech package that would be available since the initial person who ordered it had bought something else unable to wait for it. I have to say at first I wasn't sure about the extra $ for the tech package, but it guaranteed me to get it right away and get a total of 10, 000$ back from the Canadian and Quebec government (it would've been 8000$ if I didn't get it by the end of the year). I have to say the tech package is worth it and the RAV4 prime is probably the best vehicle on the Market at the moment (IMHO), you get Toyota build quality and reliability, a vehicle that's big enough for a family of 4, ridiculous fuel economy ( my average is 2.2l/100km) and that thing moves with the 302hp in a vehicle that size. Being a technician I get to work on them and I have customers who passed the 100, 000km mark without anything other than fluid/filter changes and winter tires, even the 280 treadwear Yokohamas that came with the vehicle are still good.

Canada builds good stuff. One drive of the Civic is proof. I got my wife a 22 touring. I recently got the Camry SE for myself. US built but this is a Toyota Chanel after all . We had not replaced our cars since 2003 & 2004. Things have changed.

I would only buy Japanese made even though Canadian built is good too. I would never buy their pickups made in USA because they dont coat frames well. I owned 2001 Tundra and frame was completely rotten

Marijuana legal in Canada, not legal in Japan

I’d trust Japanese workers over Canadian any day. Japanese are known for loyalty and work ethic.

Fit of my Rav4 hood to the drivers side is bad. Hood overhangs the fender noticably

I've driven my brand new 2024 rav4 hybrid for 200km (mostly city driving) now but why is my fuel economy 6.7l/100km?

California state still receives some Japanese-built Toyota RAV4 LE gas that you can buy new.
