What are the best Daredevil comic books for beginners? Matt Murdock. The Man Without Fear. Daredevil. Somehow, in the nearly 80 years since the Devil of Hell's Kitchen billy-clubbed his way into comics, writer after writer has come along and told some of the best stories within all of the medium. But between the Bendis's, the Miller's, the Waid's and everyone else who's had a vision for our blind vigilante, where is the best place to start?

Whether you've never heard of the character, or you're looking for your fix after the third season of the Netflix show, I am here with a list of the best graphic novels that I can recommend for anyone who's wanting to learn more about our favourite Defender!

Chip Zdarsky's Daredevil is basically the comic version of the Netflix show but is better. Another good video woof woof

Daredevil is underrated to a criminal extent...

My introduction to Daredevil was actually the silver age - I'm not even remotely close to old enough to have read them when they were first published, I read reprints from my Dads old black and white Marvel UK magazines. The first Daredevil I read was Daredevil #5, where he's in the yellow costume and fights the Masked Matador (that villain didn't take off). I absolutely loved it, and I was probably 7 or so.

The first thing I did when I had a shred of income was save up for a copy of Daredevil 1 - I'd save that in a fire over the dog. Eventually I'll have a complete run. Eventually...

I like how you add in the art work of each comic book while you're talking about it. But not just by moving the camera over the page, you actually have the images of the art work edited into the video so we get a better look.

The five best runs on DareDevil I'm need to read are Frank Miller's run, Chip Zdarsky's run, Brian Michael Bendis's run, Mark Waid's run, and Brubacher's run on DareDevil because I'm collecting the comics through the Epic Collection line.

Probably the character that his been most consistently written well. Very good list, I would struggle to disagree with any.

Good video, I recently got into Daredevil by reading Zdarky’s run which is KILLER, so I’ve gone back and got the Miller omnibuses which are also fantastic. Looking forward to reading the Bendis run as soon as I get those omnis as well! Woofwoof

Just thanks!! In the last 2 months I’ve collected a lot of Batman and daredevil(man without fear&born again, all of chip zdarsky so far) based on your vids! Your approach and different ways of allowing new readers to ease into to new comics is exceptional. Next buys are ultimate Spider-Man/miles morales, Dan slott Spider-Man, 616 miles, dini and Morrison Batman omnis. Salute!

Hey Marcus, I love these Where to start videos, they are so helpful! I just really wish that there was one for the venom series. Yeah, I know I could just watch another guys video about it, but you make it way simpler

Just picked up the Marvel Knights and Bendis Omni 1 & 2. I've only read Yellow, Guardian Devil and a few volumes of Waids run before. I'm now on the hunt after the Brubaker omnis ^^

Awesome video of an awesome character! For you Bendis DD was why you got into comics, for me it was Miller DD that got me into it!

I was worried for a while there that you wouldn't mention the Waid run! I know the different tone rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, but I absolutely loved that run. Granted, I don't have much other Daredevil reading under my belt, but it was a great starting point for a new reader. Really, really accessible. And just straight-up amazing comics.

I have been stockpiling the other Daredevil omnis ready to get stuck into his history with a binge at some point. Annoyingly, I have the Brubaker omni vol. 2, but it's seriously difficult to find vol. 1 right now for a good price! I really hope that gets a reprint some time. It's going to be one of those things that puts me off getting started with my read through!

And I really appreciate how you don't just stick to comics. I mean, you even throw in one of my favourite cartoons ever!

Great work Dogg, I love these "where to start" videos. Some excellent choices on here.
