BBC Two! There's so much we can do!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This video will not include EVERY single variant. I decided to add my favorite variants, including variants included in other logo histories on BBC Two, because if I added every variant, then it would be unwatchable.

Not so long ago, BBC celebrated its centenary. I decided to do logo histories on the main BBC channels (BBC One, Two, Three, and Four). I might do a logo history on CBBC in the foreseeable future.

BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. It covers a wide range of subject matter, with a remit "to broadcast programs of depth and substance" in contrast to the more mainstream and popular BBC One.

Originally styled BBC2 (1964-1997), it was the third British television station to be launched (starting on 21st April 1964), and from 1 July 1967, Europe's first television channel to broadcast regularly in color.

Memorable shows that aired on BBC Two include: Monty Python's Flying Circus, Mock the Week, Top Gear, The Office (with legendary comedian Ricky Gervais), and Bottom.

My next logo history will be on BBC Three, which will include BBC Choice.

What are your favorite idents from BBC Two?

I’m a teenager from Wisconsin, so I don’t exactly have any memories of BBC 2. But those ‘90s idents are genuinely beautiful. They have such a unique aesthetic that I find so calming and oddly nostalgic. I don’t know who made them, but whoever they are they did a masterful job.

The 90's idents is probably one of the best idents ever made in British television. Circles from BBC One is perhaps a close second, followed by Channel Four's Floating 4.

Amazing ident history of BBC Two, Jonty! BBC Two has a lot of great and memorable idents for people that watched the channel in the UK, and I like the idents from 1991-2001 the best! The Paint ident is the most memorable ident from BBC Two, as it's the first ident from the set (1991-2001) to air, and seeing that blue paint splash against an "2" is satisfying to watch. Not only that, but it's also creative, as they rotated the camera 90° to look like that paint is falling sideways! Also, the music in the 1991-2001 idents is nice to listen to.

The 2018 idents, while not as good as the 1991 idents, and even though people may see the idents as bland, they are really creative and, overall, a great successor.

Is it wrong to feel kinda nostalgic for channels you haven't even watched? The first time I've known of BBC was through PBS. Anyway, if BBC doesn't bring back the 1991 idents for their 60th anniversary I might riot.

As an American living in Ireland in the 90’s..we got the BBC there and I always loved the idents at that time on BBC 2.
