Family of Neveah Hall awarded $95.5 million after suffering brain damage by former dentist

A grand jury has awarded a family $95.5 million after what attorneys said should have been a simple procedure resulted in then 4-year-old Neveah suffering irreversible brain damage.

I'm 68 and I had a great dentist growing up. I can't imagine doing anything like restraining a child. My dentist a Dr. Dalberg was a kind gentle dentist who made you relaxed in the chair by kindness and humor. I was never made afraid of seeing him.

The dentist 🦷 put 7 different medication 💊 on the child and don’t call the ambulance, that’s criminal.

i ve heard the case, cant believe it took that long to the malpractice dentist to be punished . never leave a child or elderly alone with dentist/ doctor / nurse. i too insist not to leave my dad when he was hospitalized, and thank GOD I did. water for wipe was too hot !

Small Smiles in Santa Fe NM use to restrain kids too. My son was traumatized when they did this to him! Never went back! Parents if a dental office or any other place doesn't allow you to be at the appointment with your child RUN! Same dentist wanted to remove 3 of my daughter's molars, not because they were bad but like he explained, " to allow the other molars to come out"! I laughed and asked him if he was serious! Umm no the other molars will push the baby teeth out! Dentist in Española NM claimed my son had a cavity, no he didn't according to another dentist at the same office. Same dentist wanted to remove all of my son's wisdom teeth, why? He had zero cavities, they weren't bothering him at all, still don't and he's now 23! Don't be afraid to speak up if you feel something's not right get your child out of there! I sure did!

Sadly, the family settled out of Court for $150k 💵and will not see the 💵95 million!? The child clearly requires lifetime 24 hour care, love and assistance. I wish Neveah's (Heaven spelled backwards) Family would've been more... Patient! 💙

My dentist also ordered us to get sedated during procedure. And I didn't agree to it . And just waited until my daughter ready for it. And 6 months later, they done the procedure with no problem. This dentist just about money.

They can award thst family the moon, but they are not going to get it, , where is a female dentist going to get 95 million dollars, she couldn't even get 500, 000 dollars, , thats all just big numbers, , and no insurance company is going to let a dentist carry 100 million dollar liability insurance, , she will be lucky to get 200, 000

Never settle out of court. This young girl will never see a penny and the family will still have to pay her medical bills for the rest of her life.

A Court can enforce payments but when you 'settle out of court' or 'between the lawyers' you agree with the good faith of the person you're accusing and their lawyers; a person who just butchered your child and stole their livelihood.
