In this video I am showing how to make a disk image file (in ISO format) from cd/dvd. An ISO file, also called a disc image, is a single file that’s a copy of an entire data CD or DVD. You can burn a disc image file, which often has either an .iso or .img file name extension, to a recordable CD or DVD.

If you want to install any software from cd/dvd then you use cd/dvd every time into your cd drive. This may damage your cd drive due to repeatedly use. So what you can do is to make iso file of your cd. Then you can install it through virtual drive.
