Scripture for All 9 Enneagram Types | Your Enneagram Coach

In the last few months, we’ve spent time going through the Core Motivations of each Type, and how we can each overcome the Fears, Desires, and Weaknesses our personality struggles with, and recognize the way Christ alone fulfills the Core Longings of our hearts.

No matter where you land on the Enneagram, you have a specific message your heart is longing to hear, and only Christ can satisfy it. We can look to other people and things, but lasting freedom and abundant life can only be found when we depend solely on Him!

I love this picture of a sheep resting in the arms of the Shepherd, and to me it perfectly demonstrates the peace, hope and refuge we find in our Savior. In fact, I love this picture so much, I’ve made it the screensaver on my phone! It serves as my daily reminder that I’m seen, cherished and my presence matters as a beloved child of God.

We’re going to walk through a piece of scripture that illustrates this promise for each Enneagram Type, specifically answering the Core Longing of every heart. I encourage you to write your scripture in your journal, post it in a place where you’ll see it often, and even memorize it. Let it remind you of the peace and assurance you have in your Father, and that no matter your struggles, you can find true rest in His arms!

We live in a fallen world, and we’re constantly bombarded and worn down by the sins and troubles that come this side of Heaven.

Each Type has different strategies for finding love, worth and validation, and the Enneagram quickly exposes them, and calls us to the work of self-awareness and soul restoration.

If we’re honest, we all have times when we feel spiritually depleted. But before we look to anything or anyone other than Christ to satisfy us, we have to remember what it says in John 4:14: “But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Over the coming days, we’ll look at the spiritual renewal steps each Type can take to keep themselves on the path of health, wholeness and freedom in Christ.

May these insights refresh your soul and deepen your walk with the Lord, the one who intricately designed you and knows your every thought, feeling and thirst. His living water never runs dry!
