UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak who was in Japan for the G7 Summit in Hiroshima stopped in Tokyo first to visit a naval base where he announced that Britain will double the number of UK troops in the upcoming joint exercises. The Carrier Strike would work alongside the Japanese self-defence forces and other regional partners to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
