GG R.I.P. velocity tracker spam: it was fun and op

The buffs, unfortunately, function as I assumed they had prior... so I was just wrong. The nerf is also something that stood out to me as peculiar, considering how many crisis suits could be buffed in one unit.

On the Meta (I'd like to see more of this)
Ive been seeing people moving and disembarking dreadnoughts turn one in tournaments... you can't disembark after moving the transport... I don't see how these transports can loiter for 2 turns without being shot down.

_On the Meta:_ I've noticed that the Tau can fit 3 Brigades into 2, 000 points... that's 27 command point.
Question is: When do we use those command points, and what is the most efficient use of them?

Also--- for the sake of detachments... Drones are fast attack. As soon as accompanying drones can act independently, are they their own unit? Are they then a fast attack unit? Are they essentially deployed as though they were embarked units?

OH man i just fought four storm ravens and draigo over the weekend the most unfun game ever. New GW is awesome they dont let any cheese last too long from Astra Guard Command Squad spam to this storm raven spam.

Sound like some good changes, I enjoy the ground unit rule the best because there has been a cheeser at the shop I go to.

In the argument of flyers I will say that even though the Sunshark got buffed, it also got more expensive for a unit that dies pretty easily.

That's a very very good new rule. Makes sense too, beautiful.

BUT just replace flyers with tanks and no change there

Very excited that marker lights stack and are networked. I thought they were since it was explicit that they weren't networked from the same unit they were in, in previous editions. Yet this edition only stressed you couldn't fire them and anything else but didn't say they weren't networked. That's awesome. It also makes since of this since the main rules say you can resolve multiple shots of the same weapon one at a time by firing them all one at a time... And taking the benefit of each one one at a time. Boy are people going to. Be mad about how long Tau shooting phase take now. Lol

Wow! That changes so much! So now You need to redo almost all the Tau revievs!

I like the FAQ, just not happy that they leave the FE out of Longstrikes ability...

you forgot to mention that its not just a buff to shield drones, but any unit that can take the shield generator support system. Now I can take a Ghostkeel who already has -2 to hit, and put shield gen on him giving him 4+invuln and 5+ ignore damage. Ghostkeel is going to be awesome ^_^

The question is, is taking stimulant injectors on my Warlord Commander along with the Tenacious Survivor trait more useful than a shield generator?

Also it would just be a 6+ rerollable FNP essentially

To bad about the velocity tracker, I hoped it would go the other way, that the support systems could be taken on one model and the buffs where shared, (like it hinted on the velocity tracker rule), could be only on the shas'ui to nerf it a bit.
Now on crisis suit an extra gun is always better...commander could give them in a 3" aura or so, it would bring back a bit of synergy between different suits and make a commander more than a gun platform.
It would make wound allocation a bit trickier :)
What's your take on synergy between tau units in 8th? And what's your hope for the coming codex?

Does savior protocol happen after the wound roll or damage roll? and when a drone unit intervenes, does it absorb all the wounds, including the excess wounds, or do the excess wounds revert back to the original target? If there are excess wounds after a drone unit dies while using savior protocol, can another pair of drones (another "unit") use this ability to absorb the excess wounds for the original target?

So I cant really use Longstrike in my farsight army anymore. Great. When are we going to get some Farsight bonuses!?

When are skyrays going to be buffed?

There is no reason to take them because their limited weapons and seeker missiles only do 1 damage IF you can even hit with them.

Even with the markerlight support, they aren't hitting on 2+ like 7th.

Also no skyfire :/

"Other" means that Longstrike does not benefit himself.
