I daily drive a 2007 4Runner, it’s incredibly comfortable to drive and does everything well. My friends who own Tacomas envy my 4runner because I have more room in back seat than they have in their Tacomas.

I considered getting a Tacoma but after driving them I couldn’t pull the trigger on a vehicle that had a cramped back seat and just didn’t drive as well as my 4Runner.

After daily driving my 2017 and later my 2020...my humble opinion is no. Its pretty uncomfortable. Loved a lot of other things about them though

I also daily my 2020 TRD Offroad.. went on a 4450 mile road trip just this past April. At 5'10" I find the seating position comfortable and I did not experience excessive fatigue on the long journey. While driving westbound thru New Mexico I was met with some pretty fierce and sustained head winds. I could really feel the truck working hard to maintain stability and, of course, the fuel economy was horrendous for that leg of the trip - ship's computer registered 15.1 mpg. Driving up and over mountains in the southwest I left the gear selector in "S" and manually selected the gear(s) based on elevation and grade. I discovered quickly that if left in "D" the transmission struggled to make up it's mind as it just couldn't find that sweet spot. In fact, for local driving I leave the truck in "S" which limits the highest gear and maintains revs for much improved in-town responsiveness. At 51 this is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned (nudged out the GTI). It's the swiss army knife of vehicles. Thanks for sharing your Taco experience :)

I daily my 2016 Sport 100 miles everyday. With good maintenance it remains extremely reliable. I also use it as a truck and it performs well.

I don't care about speed!! All I care about is reliability and dependability that would keeps the truck forever!! End of discussion! Do you want fast trucks?? Than go buy Chevy Colorado or Ford Ranger and eventually will break down later.

Awesome truck! And thanks for the info. I was able to secure an allocation for a 2022 TRD OR army green scheduled for Mid December. I’m stoked and can’t wait!

When you drive around Nashville, good brakes are better than horsepower.

I daily drive my 2020 SR5 4x4 every day. It's a good truck, not too fancy but very good looking. It fits in parking spots pretty well. I do like the inside like you said everything is laid out good and easy to use with little distraction from driving.
I also use the Tacoma to tow a small camper I have and it's really good for that too. So far my truck has been very dependable we have only been to the mechanic for maintenance and annual safety inspection.

What’s the fuel tank capacity in gallons?

I find the fuel economy on my truck is not the greatest I have a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD pro I get approximately 460 km out of an 81 L tank of gas and I’m using the highest octane gas too so it gets expensive. I do think in certain situations truck does hunt for gears. I was also looking at putting several accessories on the truck which would be heavier which means I will have to re-gear the truck. I don’t believe you should really tell people it’s an off-road vehicle it is capable of dealing with some gravel roads and dirt trails but it’s not really an off-road vehicle the suspension and height is insufficient and there are no recovery points on it which is essential for a Off roading . I have a TRD pro and it is quite capable but even I am looking at upgrading my suspension changing my tires putting rock sliders on it in order to protect my rocker panel underneath the armour in addition to the skid plate so I wouldn’t really classed them as an off-road vehicle. It’s a good platform and start to make a great off-road vehicle but you’re going to have to invest time and money into turning it into an off-road vehicle.

Your track is pretty rad in that Army Green brother...I have the same opinion as you about everything on my silver trd or 4x4...but my MPGS are worse than yours...I get about 14.5 MPG in the town where I live daily commuting. But I'm lucky if I get 19-20 MPGS on the highway...of course I have a 2 Inch lift plus I run 32's..

The ONLY thing i really hate about my taco, the (so called) tilt steering. I am use to the wheel being straight up and down. Sorta getting use to the the slight tilt, but still hate that.

I owned alot of trans am's and 70's mustangs, raced both. Im way too use to popping the wheel up getting out and having it totally down when driving. Besides, it makes it easy to get in and out, not only getting older, but still growing

I do notice it hunting for gears on the interstates. It doesnt like to go over over 85. Normal driving around to work and such, i lock out 5/6.
