Side note .. I used to race and tune two strokes and I still play around I learned long ago that a 2-stroke engine is self supercharging.. with the positive displacement of the Piston going down and sending the charge from the lower end to the top through the transfer ports having said this.. the crankshaft seals on any two cycle have to be good therefore you cannot boost a two-cycle with a turbo or a another external blower they are self supercharging and anything added on like that would be catastrophic however porting polishing crankcase stuffing and a couple of expansion chamber's would be all they need

Using the bicycle pump must have been a pain in the rear. My "Black Friday" splurge for myself last year was a Ryobi 18 volt hand-held air compressor from Home Depot (Lowes?). It's no bigger than a battery powered drill (uses the same battery), and it pumps up my motorcycle and scooter tires quickly and easily. There's even an easy to read built in pressure gage. Not too expensive either, at least not on Black Friday.

Cute Subaru, cute daughter, cute dog. My Daihatsu Mira also has a mystery gas tank. It has a fuel gauge with an idiot warning light that goes on when the gauge needle is just getting a little close to the "E" for empty. But I know that my tank has a capacity of 33.5 liters and if I fill up when that idiot light goes on, I can only get 24 liters of gasoline into it. That means the light went on when there were still almost 10 liters in the tank! If I wait until the needle goes way past the "E" and reaches its resting point or the furthest point it can go, there are still 4 liters of gasoline in the tank. Okay, that means even at that extreme empty level I can still drive about 50 kilometers. But I have the stupid warning light glaring in my eyes the whole time. I wish there were some way to adjust when the warning light goes on. Another annoying thing, the gasoline nozzle clicks off very quickly when I'm filling up the car. I always know I can then put in another 1.5 liters to really get the tank full.

I have a '58 Metropolitan that fails to charge the battery while I'm driving. I've let a shop take a look at the alternator and relay and they couldn't find anything wrong so I don't really know what to do? Do you have ant suggestions? Old bad wiring perhaps? The charge light never comes on but suddenly it fails to start and the battery dies out fast.

This car is good anyway :) lightweight with high capacity for people. How well could it travel 200 km/h on straight line ? I would imagine make it 300 HP with wider tires to make it more useful ? : ))
