Every so often a product comes along that is so amazing it can't help but change the world. We're not saying that Flex Tape is one of those products, but does it actually do what they say it does?

Gotta have a VERY clean surface for the glue to do its thing. Too mush dust will clog up the glues function.

FYI/FWIW.... anything you do with a product ON ANOTHER PRODUCT boils down to how the product is prepped. Putting flexseal on a brand new boat is going to seal probably 100% where as applying it to an old beat up boat isn't going to give the same results. Lol. New pipe vs old dirty pipe? Same results. I'm not advocating flexseal, hell, I've never used it for anything. BUT I AM ADVOCATING FIXING THINGS PROPERLY WHICH TAKES PREP WORK.

The YouTuber whose boat sank in this was using regular flex tape whereas the commercial used flex tape that was like several inches wide 😂 what were they expecting

Even myth busters years ago did shows on it. Yes, there are varying factors to application but it still comes oit to mixed results.

Professional commercial waterproofer here, flex tape is essentially just slightly scaled down Carlisle 860-861 without primer before install and sealant after install. I’ve used it a time or two and would say it’s good in a pinch but I wouldn’t rely on it if you don’t know how to properly apply it

It works, a news organization did a chicken wire boat with the flex paste but made sure no light could get through. It stayed afloat, so the product is legit.

As someone in the construction trade, it could very well be an application issue. This is why some products have a warenty ONLY if its applied as instructed

I don’t know, I’ve used flex tape like they do in the commercial and it’s worked every time. But then, I never had a need to saw a boat in half and then tape it back together.

Look at the difference between the boats, the one that sank was super rusty and dirty. You need a clean, solid, oil and dust free surface for any adhesive to properly work.

Ironically enough Inside Edition also tried making a Flex Paste boat and it actually worked and never leaked, same with the barrel. Check out the original video it’s actually sick. 🔥🔥

Surface preparation is a huge variable when applying any type of adhesive.

The boat was used with flex seal for a different ad. Then for the flex tape ad. The boat was cut in half then flex tapper. That why it worked.

I am a huge huge believer in flex tape. I use it constantly and it had never once failed me. Eveey other rubber tape has. His products are great and he stands behind them. I say he should be president lol
