What is Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) movie about ?
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is having a tough time with his relatives (yet again). He runs away after using magic to inflate Uncle Vernon's (Richard Griffiths') sister Marge (Pam Ferris), who was being offensive towards Harry's parents. Initially scared for using magic outside the school, he is pleasantly surprised that he won't be penalized after all. However, he soon learns that a dangerous criminal and Voldemort's trusted aide Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has escaped from Azkaban Prison and wants to kill Harry to avenge the Dark Lord. To worsen the conditions for Harry, vile creatures called Dementors are appointed to guard the school gates and inexplicably happen to have the most horrible effect on him. Little does Harry know that by the end of this year, many holes in his past (whatever he knows of it) will be filled up and he will have a clearer vision of what the future has in store.

Still the best depiction and look of a werewolf in my opinion, the transformation is still haunting to this day

Professor Snape despite that Harry attacked him covered his students even without his wand. This scene still touching my heart.

1:33 I appreciate that despite how callous he is in general, and despite that he's specifically angry at Harry at that moment, as soon as Snape sees there's real danger he forgets everything and shields them behind himself.

(Sure, you could argue it's just because of his secret commitment to protect Harry, but if you ask me it looks too reflexive to be just that.)

For me this version of Lupin werewolf it's way better in the movie than the book, it makes more sense keeping some humanoid traits mixed with a wolf, it's really scary

I remember seeing this in the theaters and the push in shot to his eye as he begins to transform still stays with me.

Now that I see Alan Rickman’s performance in this scene I can’t help but think how it suits perfectly with his character’s story background. The look of terror in Snape’s eyes cause he has /already/ met this very werewolf. Such encounter mustn’t be really easy to forget.

The zoom in and zoom out of his eye is one if my favorite shots in all of the Harry Potter movies.

The developers absolutely nailed this version of Lycanthropy or Werewolf portrayal within Harry Potter. Not only the werewolf looks like a combination of infected disease ridden creature but it also looks malnourished and decayed. This scene gave literal sheer terror to many people that watched it

1:24 Legitimately the most terrifying werewolf I have ever seen. Imagine how scary it must have been back at Hogwarts for anyone who heard that.

I love that the second Lupin begins to change, Sirius runs to him and is trying to almost talk him down? Asking if he took his potion and trying to help him remain in control of his own mind.

One can only imagine the extreme pain from the muscles and bones shifting around to whatever you'd transform into

Sirius has watched Remus transform all his life and knows exactly what to do. The marauders friendship is so pure at first when all of them learned how to become Animagi to help their friend.

Harry, a prodigy wizard armed with a wand that he just used moment earlier.

Also Harry, *throws a rock*.

The music, heartbeat, zoom into the eye with a shaky camera really made me think something crazy was about to happen. I don’t find the werewolf itself scary but those 5 seconds of the initial turn were done well

the transformation in this, in comparison to others, isn't much to write home about, however this is one of my FAVOURITE depictions of a werewolf form, absolutely distrubing and feels accurate to a lot early drawn depictions of werewolves from the 1600s/1700s

To say this particular film in the franchise isn't classed as a mild horror is almost insane, The dark, sombre atmosphere throughout the entire film, Then add the whole Lupin/Black fight and that fiasco with Snape/Remus/Sirius and Peter is just the cherry on the cake!

1:10 Really not the smartest move Hermione did.
1:38 But this shows you that Snape is a good Professor.

You can see in lupins eyes before he starts to turn into a wearwolf. He looks at the moon and is basically saying "Oh shit! What have I done?" He's even scared that he was about to transform. Meanwhile Pettigrew was like "he dropped the wand. Now is my chance! Bu bye Harry, thanks for saving my coward self."

These kids really love to stand still and wait for things to come slay them 😂

There’s something I really love about this lankier, skinnier and almost malnourished, starved kind of werewolf. You get this impression this thing could haul ass if it wishes to, but is also exceptionally strong and powerful.
