On the cool, it turned out to be a beautiful movie. I don't know why it didn't do well at the box office. Not what I expected....a very touching passionate film about forgiveness, humanity and loving someone for what's on the inside instead of the outta appearance. Didn't read the novel but I recommend this. Don't watch it expecting to see shoot em' up bang bang because it's not that type of film.  This movie got heart...

When I saw the book in the library, I knew people would intentionally avoid it because of the name of the author. Despite what others think, Stephenie Meyer is a really great writer. The twilight books wouldn't be so hated if the movies hadn't been created. I own all four of the twilight books and I, to this day, refuse to go see any of the movies. I had only to see the trailers for me to know that they would be absolutely terrible. I'm still in the process of reading the book and already own the movie in anticipation of watching it. Hatred for Stephenie Meyer and her works is severely misdirected.

The first time I saw the trailer I watched it over and over again about a thousand times. The producers were smart to go with the song they did and the way they set up the trailer, I know so many people now who didn't read the books or know that they exist but now are either reading the book or dyeing to see the movie.

I love all of Stephanie Meyers books and I have been excited for this movie since she announced it was being made on her website. Can't wait for another blockbuster hit!

If u liked the movie but haven't read the book I highly recommend it. I got the book way before the movie even came out I was first interested when I seen the preview at the cinema and knew I had to read before I seen the film. Gosh words can't describe the book it blew my mind I couldn't put it down it was brilliantly amazing.I bought the DVD as soon as it hit stores actually I waited at a Wal-Mart til midnight dnt get me wrong the movie was good but didn't quite do the book justice. The book has so many more emotions feelings so much more story. The movie cut out a lot of the important scences like the stories she told that got her closer to the others it left out sum of the characters their backgrounds their feelings and sum of their love stories and thoughts it cut so much of that out. So please read the book it's probably one of my favorite books.

I just watched this movie today.  I will admit that I took this long to watch it because of the whole Twilight author thing.  I was very surprised.  This movie was SO much better than Twilight.  I HATE Twilight, but I really did like this.  And it shocks me that Twilight did so much better than this, when it sucked so bad.  Everything was bad about that movie.  The acting was unbearable to watch, it was just so terrible.  And it sucks that they probably wont make the second movie to this because a lot of people didn't want to go see it based on who wrote the book.  I really wish that they left Stephanie Meyers name out the trailer, because if they did, a lot more people might have went to go see it.  I've even seen comments saying that it looked like it would be good until they saw her name, and decided against it.  If only the movies never happened.  I would recommend this movie though.

This was an amazing book, kept me supsensed through the entire thing. I really hope, though, that they don't just show Melanie. I hope that they show Wanda and the relationship that her and Melanie grow together.

nothing said she had to be "unbelievably gorgeous", but even then, saoirse ronan is absolutely gorgeous. and talented. can't wait to see her in this film. loved the book.

I actually read this book while waiting for #4 of the Twilight Saga and I fell in love with it!!!! I did finish the other books but bought and read this one often and still love it. Can't wait to see the movie...hope it does the book justice!
