Hi and thanks for the upload.
Was intrigued by your break in procedure, a tank on idle, a tank on half throttle. Heard and seen someone else on YTube do similar. (Tony, a regular on Chris' "In the Woodyard" channel.)
So I looked in the manual - didn't find anything like your break in procedure.
Went to some arborist and forestry forums/sites - read some info/opinions.

I don't know first hand but it seems in the past such break like you did in was helpful but modern saws just need some warm up each time started and avoidance of full throttle without load especially until broken in which can take 3 to 15 tanks depending on brand.

I appreciate your sharing as it gave me some stuff to think about and look into.
sincerely

I have a 362cm and I thought about the 400 as a 3rd saw but opted for the 500i...Best of luck with the 400 it has fantastic reviews.

2 years later are you still liking this saw? Any issues with the computer controls?

I am not sure the break in process is good to let it run such low rpm for a tank. Nice video I design engines but not 2 cycle so maybe there is a difference. Its your Saw just asking

Shocks me how many pulls some take to start cold. My ms462C I pull twice slowly all the way then on the 3rd yank hard and fast and it always starts

you think thats smooth at idle. find yourself a echo 610evl twin cylinder. thats the smoothest saw i have ever run. and yes i have a ms400 as well.
great saws
