About damn time. My local dealer refuses to carry the 400 or 500 because “they’re too new and unreliable” (even though they’ve been out for years) and ONLY sell the 362, 462, or 661. Meanwhile a mile away at Ace hardware you can buy a 400 for the same price the small store sells the 362 for, and it has way more power.

They should’ve ended production on the 362 as soon as the 400 came out. Glad to see the 400 getting a slight update too, hopefully they fix the oiler issues it has with larger bars.

This just means I need to pick up a 400 before they disappear. Although, Ive always found it a rip off to pay just over a thousand bucks for a 60cc saw and they don't offer it with a full wrap handle.

I think they might be trying to make a middle ground saw only reason I think this is cause most people buy the 462 or the 500i and I think many people aren’t buying as many 362 or 400 so I feel like making it lighter then then both but have more power then the 362 but just a little bit less then the 400 so I think by doing that the new saw might actually get sold more

They are using an aluminum piston because it is easier to work on. Officially you are not even allowed to touch the magnesium piston, you need to wear gloves…

Simple aluminium is stronger forged aluminium is better

When they come out with a fuel injected 90cc class saw, that's when I'll get another stihl.. I got a 044 slant fin red lever and a 500i.. can't wait till they make a big bore fuel injected saw..

Current 400 will stay the better saw. The new one is cheaper to produce. Think about it
